Watts Captures Conference Swim Title
Ava Watts and Piper McElfresh were the top performers as Ava (pictured above) grabbed first place in the 50-yard freestyle and third place in the 100-yard freestyle. Piper McElfresh came close to claiming the title in the 200-yard freestyle, finishing in second place. Other individuals who swam fast enough to take the podium include: Caden Sandoval (5th place, 100-yard freestyle), Gavin Stimac (6th place, 100-yard freestyle),
Several of the Ranger relays also earned a top-6 finish: girls 200-yard medley relay of Grace Lowmiller, Mia Mesto, Dominique Christian and Eleanor Rogers placed 6th; girls 200-yard freestyle relay of Grace Lowmiller, Zoe Bowers, Piper McElfresh and Ava Watts placed 6th; and the girls 400-yard freestyle relay of Dominque Christian, Zoe Bowers, Piper McElfresh and Ava Watts placed 4th.
On the diving side, Edie Barcelona placed 5th and Rian Fetting and JP McManamon placed 5th and 6th, respectively.
Next up for the team is Sectionals on Feb. 8-10 at Cleveland State.
